Wahiba Sands are an ocean of regular dunes that seem to go on forever. The towering sand heaps are pale gold at noon and fluctuate between rich yellow and coppery orange when the sun is at lower angles. An overnight stay here is only a three-hour drive from Muscat and provides an easy opportunity to experience the primordial majesty of the desert, camel riding, and cambing.
